CD Celebration/Book Signing Benefit on Saturday, Nov. 24!

Yes, Yes, Yes, The Cats new release is finally here! The band is really excited for all of you to hear it. "Workin' Man" is the title of the band's third full length release. We all feel that it is the best effort to date. If you have been following the past e-mails than you already know that we recorded once again at Magnetic North, under the talented ear of Chris Keffer. Rick and Chris co-produced the 11 song disc. The band has included 4 cover songs that we have been performing live for years. The Hank William's classic "Hey Good Lookin", Doug Kershaw's "Louisiana Man", Squeeze's "Goodbye Girl" and Vickie Chew's "Warm Me Up". Most of you are hip to one Clevo's finest singer/songwtriters Vickie Chew and we are honored to cover one of her great songs. The seven originals represent the "blue-collar, working man" themes that have been gracing Denis' compositions in the past as well as some unchartered subjects like the "tumultuous Mexican border, Jack Kerouc-ish train hopping and down on their luck street stories. The Cats instrumentation of Denis (acoustic guitar), Rick (electric guitar), Kristine (violin), Brian (bass guitar), and Rod on the drums is accompanied by the Tony Koussa Horn Section on the retro swinging "Gotta be Down". This might be the most intriging track on the disc. We are also joined by Joe Milan on accordian. He adds the "gumbo" to the Louisiana feel of "Zydeco Lady". All right enough rhetoric about "Working Man". Join us at the Big CD Release where you can pick-up a copy and hear for yourself.
